Emmy-winning producer/cameraman Thomas Eugene Green had kind words for our stage when here to shoot a corporate video with Jeff Braverman. 4th Street Studios is a great facility to work in. They have a very friendly staff, a large quiet stage, a full kitchen, dressing rooms, and a container full of gear to use. It’s a fun environment to work in and our clients really appreciate the professional atmosphere. I look forward to working at the 4th Street Studios again […]
San Francisco native, Darren Criss, who plays Blaine Anderson on the hit TV series, Glee, recently took time from his busy schedule to shoot a short video for Rock the Vote on our green screen stage. The multi-talented Criss was an instant hit with crew and staff with his quick wit and amiability. This was one of the most low-key celebrity shoots ever produced on our stage. Our pre-lit green screen does such a good job of illumination that just a few fill lights […]

On set Design Media took advantage of our new movable sound walls to sculpt the audio for their shoot this week. Being able to place the 3-ft x 7ft free-standing walls anywhere on set gives the sound tech unprecedented control. 4th Street Studios has added several single and double-paned walls to improve the soundproofing on the stage. The fact that the sound walls are movable makes them even more useful. The remodeled lounge area doubles as an art gallery until the new […]

To film a powerful message for a public service video about AIDS, Lamb Productions created vivid lighting on our white cyc. Gaffer Arthur Aravena created the dramatic lighting under the direction of producer, Mark Lamb. Keeping carpeting down on the floor aided in sound levels. The white cyc corner helped shape the wrap-around lighting.
Just had to share this link. We didn’t shoot it, but man this kid is amazing. And we knew other people in our field would think so too. Check it out: Blues Singing 10 year old
Yeah! We finally got the permit to move forward with the remodel of our rental photo studio and video production sound stage. It would not have happened without the help of a dedicated and talented architect, and good friend Alfredo Baccari. So if you ever need some special architectural work done, either residential or commercial, Alfredo would be my first choice. He really knows what he is doing. Civic Engine really put our big Main Stage to the test in their recent greenscreen shoot. The back end of the stage served as a staging area all the props required for six different scenes, ranging from a park bench to a medical setting. Even with all those props and heavy lighting, there was plenty of room for every scene on the green screen cyc. The biggest prop was a Mini Cooper, the brand famously featured in the movie, The […]
